DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the general supervision of the First Mechanic, the second mechanic will be responsible for specific tasks on their allocated F4 race car, fueling, coordination and organization of allocated race tires & pressures, assistance to their first mechanic and supporting the day-to-day mechanical work of the team.

The second mechanic will perform the following duties:
 

  • Assist with disassembly, inspecting & reassembly of the F4 car.

  • Service & prepare the F4 race car before & after each racing event.

  • Support the 1st mechanic & colleagues as required.

  • Ensure the functionality & reliability of the F4 race car.

  • Responsible for the allocated part of the car (generally the rear).

  • Responsible for monitoring & activating the race car fire extinguisher before each release of the race car.

  • Organizing pit lane/grid tools and performing on-grid checks & changes. 

  • Ensuring race car conformity with technical regulations.

  • Preparation, loading & unloading of the race truck before & after each event.  Setup of team tent/box.

  • Ensure the tidiness, cleanness & good functionality of the working space, tools & materials.

  • Carry out other relevant duties as required;

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • University degree in motorsport engineering, mechanical engineering or technical school and/or a proven 2 years of working experience as a mechanic on single-seaters and a car racing team.

​

EXPERIENCE:

  • Applicants are required to have at least 1 year of progressively responsible experience in the field of motorsports

  • Professional work experience in Formula 4, ideally the GEN2 F4 & other single-seater categories would be an asset.

  • Experience in rebuilding the Sadev F4 gearbox & rewiring of an F4 electrical system would be an asset.

LANGUAGE : 

English is the working language of Maffi Racing.

For the position advertised, fluency in both oral and written English is required.

Knowledge of other working languages of Maffi Racing would be an advantage (Italian, French, Spanish).

​

PASSPORT / VISA / PERMITS

Applicants must be EU/Swiss citizens or have the relevant visa requirement to travel to the EU territory and work in the country where testing and races take place.
