DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general direction of the Chief Mechanic, the first mechanic will be responsible for the overall management of their allocated F4 race car, the supervision of their 2nd mechanic, & support the day-to-day work of the chief mechanic.
The first mechanic will perform the following duties:

Disassembly, inspection & reassembly of the F4 race car.

Service & prepare the F4 race car before & after testing & races.

Supervise the 2nd mechanic & support colleagues as required.

Responsible for the immaculate functionality & reliability of the F4 race car.

Ensure the operation of the race car after each software update.
-
Responsible for driver safety before pit lane open.
-
Responsible for monitoring & activating the race car fire extinguisher before each release of the race car to the track.

Performing car setups according to engineers’ instructions.

Organizing pit lane/grid tools & performing on-grid checks & changes & ensuring race car conformity with technical regulations.

Assist with the preparation, loading & unloading of the race truck before & after each testing or race event, setup of team tent/box.

Ensure the tidiness, cleanness & good functionality of the working space, tools & materials.

QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION:
-
University degree in motorsport engineering and mechanics, mechanical engineering and management. Studies in Business Administration would be an asset.
EXPERIENCE:
-
Applicants are required to have at least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in the field of motorsports
-
minimum of 2 years professional work experience in Formula 4, ideally the GEN2 F4 & other single-seater categories.

Experience in rebuilding the Sadev F4 gearbox & rewiring of an F4 electrical system is a must.

Proficient knowledge and experience of MS Office.
-
Experience in Wintax and other data analysis tools would be an asset.

Experience of personnel management & supervision, including administration of outsourced work, would be an advantage.

Experience with car re-vinyl & repair of carbon fiber parts.

LANGUAGE :
English is the working language of Maffi Racing.
For the position advertised, fluency in both oral and written English is required.
Knowledge of other working languages of Maffi Racing would be an advantage (Italian, French, Spanish).
PASSPORT / VISA / PERMITS
Applicants must be EU/Swiss citizens or have the relevant visa requirement to travel to the EU territory and work in the country where testing and races take place.
