F4 CHIEF MECHANIC

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Under the general direction of the Chief Technical Officer (CTO), the chief mechanic will be responsible for the overall supervision of the teams’ 1st and 2nd mechanics, the management of the inventory of supplies & support the day-to-day technical work of the CTO.

The chief mechanic will perform the following duties:
 

  • Perform the duties of 1st mechanic on their allocated race car.

  • Supervise & support other 1st and 2nd mechanics of the F4 team.

  • Act as intermediate between engineers and the mechanics.

  • Collect car millage and other data for servicing purposes.

  • Monitor the teams’ part inventory and prepare purchase lists...

  • Updating of stocks of spare parts.

  • Assist with the days-to-day operations of the management unit.

  • Provide support in the preparation of travel arrangements to race tracks

  • Assist with the preparation, loading and unloading of the race truck before & after each testing or race event, setup of team tent/box.

  • Collect images and record of on-track impact damage...

  • Supervise the team of mechanics to ensure the tidiness, cleanness & good functionality of the team space, team tools & materials..

  • Carry out other relevant duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

  • University degree in motorsport engineering and mechanics, mechanical engineering and management. Studies in Business Administration would be an asset.

EXPERIENCE:

  • Applicants are required to have at least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in the field of motorsports

  • minimum of 2 years professional work experience in Formula 4, ideally the GEN2 F4 & other single-seater categories.

  • Experience in rebuilding the Sadev F4 gearbox & rewiring of an F4 electrical system is a must.

  • Proficient knowledge and experience of MS Office.

  • Experience in Wintax and other data analysis tools would be an asset.

  • Experience of personnel management & supervision, including administration of outsourced work, would be an advantage.

  • Experience with car re-vinyl & repair of carbon fiber parts.

LANGUAGE : 

English is the working language of Maffi Racing.

For the position advertised, fluency in both oral and written English is required.

Knowledge of other working languages of Maffi Racing would be an advantage (Italian, French, Spanish).

PASSPORT / VISA / PERMITS

Applicants must be EU/Swiss citizens or have the relevant visa requirement to travel to the EU territory and work in the country where testing and races take place.
